Dornier Do18 losses on 17/10/1939

Following on from my earlier thread about the loss of Dornier Do18 8L+DK, wrkn 809, of Ku.FL.Gr 2/606 lost on 17/10/1939.

I am interested to know if any other Dornier Do18 flying boats were lost or damaged this day off the Northumberland coast or the east coast of Southern Scotland. If so aircraft, crew and circumstances would be welcome.

Many thanks,

Jim,

It was the only Do18 lost that day - anywhere.

Thank you both once again.

Are there any records from the German side about how many Dornier Do18's were dispatched that day and if any sustained damage? I'm just trying to confirm 100% if the aircraft 607 Sqn attacked was Dornier Do18 8L+DK or another that escaped back to base.
