Re: Accident at Speyer involving Barkhorn

Don't like Hein?
And since you don't like you immediatly start in some personnal considérations ....
I'm pilot since 1971.
If you want to take off without flaps ... just do it; you're free to do it.
We haven't been teach in the same school, obviously.

Loss report said "during take off". It's normal to take off with flaps on first position ... And the flaps are on first position.

Be good Revi .. and don't miss the aim!

Note1: you can check white bands painted on Bf109s' flaps. Very visible on Pre1940 camouflaged machines. Degrees are indicated too.

Note2: Yes, over 20 to 25kts of Wind ... you can do it; better I'd say.

Re: Accident at Speyer involving Barkhorn

Hi,

the pilot of "white 3" was Fw. Hans Bogasch - I think that he was mentioned in KTB.

Regards

Robert

Re: Accident at Speyer involving Barkhorn

Hi All,

You've all done a lot of digging while I was gone for 2 days.

Sorry about the misleading 8.JG51, was using the old Karl Ries book and 8.JG51 was the first I say with the cat emblem.

The foto from Falcon's Hangar was a duplicate of those in my album but Franck's was not.

The comment about the damage to weiße 4's rt. wing being due to weiße 3's landing gear, think was do more from weiße 3's prop slicing it up.

I'm attaching the other 2 fotos plus the pilot who I think may be Barkhorn.
