Luftwaffe tail markings
Within an RAF ORB I have the following description..
Many strikes and e/a seen to blow up in mid air This e/a had a vertical white stripe on the tail with short horizontal white stripe halfway up.. This is probably an ME109 from early 1944. Has any member seen any photographs showing these markings at all. Thanks for looking at my request. |

Re: Luftwaffe tail markings
Hi,
Could be an Italian fighter then. The AerMacci C.202 can easily be mistaken for a Bf 109 and was sporting a white cross on the tail as part of the Italian national marking Cheers Goran |

Re: Luftwaffe tail markings
Thanks Goran, the indications are an ME109 aircraft. My internet searches have failed to pull up any examples for me though.
