13 may 1943: D520 MSN 466 crashes near Lourdes. Any info ?

good evening to you,

on 13 may 1943, a French Dewoitine 520, flown by a german pilot, crashed in "Jarret", a small village near Lourdes (South West of France). Pilot was killed.

This aircraft had been built in 11/41, and was used as a trainer by the Luftwaffe (it was probably based in Tarbes).

Has somebody anymore info about this aircraft ? his pilot ?

Thank you in advance, best regards to all.

UPDATE : 13 may 1943: D520 MSN 466 crashes near Lourdes. Any info ?

by crosschecking with other correspondants, it would appear that the aircraft was in fact S/N 486 (and not 466) and the date 3 June 1943.

Would this help trace more infos ?

Thanks

Hi.

According to the GenQu 6 Abt. the pilot was Ofhr. Gerhard Domaschke. Unit J.G.101.

VDK states that his first name was Erhard, born in Zschachwitz on 14.09.1922, buried in Berneuil, France.

Regards,
Andreas B

hi Barkas, sorry for late answer, I am travelling.

No I did not find the crash site but I know somebody who may know it. So I hope to be able to trace it.

Therefore, so far, no parts found (and no paint).

Maybe in spring time I shall try to do something.

Bregards

Gilles

Hi Barkas,

found many parts, some with original color:
white parts (fifth picture) or green parts (fourth picture) , even the red of the former french roundel (third picture) appeared but no yellow parts.

And no engine found.. however, interesting parts: see attachments

Cheers.

GC
