Hi Bertrand

Unfortunately, I have no information for you, but what is your source? When I have time I might be able to look at the Hurricane OTU based in the area (anyone have a PRO reference?)

Cheers
Brian

Re: 17/5/1942, Hurricane, ME

Brian,

During a ferry flight between Fuka and Sudi Anish (spelling not sure) on 17 may 1942, a Hurricane with a pilot of GC1 ‘Alsace’ and a Hurricane with an English pilot ; they lost their way and arrived over Alexandria. Black clouds of Ack-Ack exploded close from them and one Hurricane is shot. Aircraft dived to the sand wind. Pilot of FF ‘Alsace’ will continue to Sudi Anish alone

Source : logbook of the GC1 pilot

Sincerely,

Bertrand

Hi Bertrand

I have checked all the Air-Britain serials books but can't find a match for this loss. However, I will continue to make enquiries and will let you know if anything surfaces.

Cheers
Brian
