Unclaimed Soviet aircraft by German fighters
I have noticed Soviet aircraft that were shot down by Bf 109 on the Eastern Front with have no matching claims in German JG units. I ran across an I-16 of the 191 IAP shot down in a dogfight with 10 Bf 109 at Krasnogvardeysk on the 28 August 1941. I checked JG 54 for this date and none of the Gruppen had any claims for that day. So did that day become lost to history? I have run across other Soviet aircraft losses that have no matching claims in German records.
I will put more such losses with no claims as I run across them on this thread. Maybe some of them showed up in a Flugbuch as denied for lack of a witness. Interesting with the over claims. |

Re: Unclaimed Soviet aircraft by German fighters
29 October 1942
From the report of the 6 VA it lists the SB of 55 SBAP over the airfield at Makarovo. It was attacked by a Bf 109 that shot it down. JG 54 did not list any pilot claiming a Soviet bomber. |
