Re: Lt Konrad Fels

Hi Steven,

According to J. Prien - Teil 3, Geschichte des Jagdgeschwaders 77, Lt. Fels claimed only two victories in North Africa.
On October 30, 1942 he claimed one P-40 near Bir-el-Abd (his ninth victory). Another P-40 was claimed on November 3, 1942 at 12:12, south-east of El Alamein.
Oddly, in another book by Mr. Prien, Teil 8/II - Die Jagdfliegerverbande der Deutschen Luftwaffe, Lt. Fels is not mentioned among the pilots claiming victories on October 30, while on November 3 his name is replaced by "N.N." (unknown pilot) in the claim list.

Lt. Fels was shot down (MIA) few days later on November 10.

Marco

Re: Lt Konrad Fels

Hello Steven,

I did not include those Spitfire claims because he claimed those victories over Malta while his unit was based in Comiso, Sicily.
According to J. Prien - Teil 3, Geschichte des Jagdgeschwaders 77, Lt. Fels claimed only two Spitfire, on 26/9/42 and on 14/10/42.

Best Regards
Marco
