So it may have been faster and easier to build a new one simply by leveling some ground nearby at Nevedritsa.

Aug 44: Soviet wartime documents and postwar memoirs state that there were now 2 airfields at Idriza (Idritsa), the second one at Newedriza (Newedritsa), located 5 km NE of Idritsa town center and 3 km ENE of where the WWII Idritsa airfield used to be. Coordinates: c. 56 21 19 N - 28 57 15 E. The two airfields came under 176 BAO (airfield service battalion) 35 RAB (District of Airfield Services) 15 VA. The 1st Latvian NBAP/313 NBAD was based here in late July and/or early August.
Larry, I probably incorrectly expressed, but The 1st Latvian NBAP/313 NBAD is not based there (not that I know of). In July 1944, before the onset of the 1st Latvian NBAP conducted simultaneous combat missions on the Idritsa station and two airfields - Idritsa and Nevedritsa.
www.nashapobeda.lv/1299.html "В ночь на 3 июля самолеты По-2 нанесли удары по железнодорожной станции Идрица (там находилось несколько эшелонов противника) и аэродромам Идрица и Неведрица."
176 BAO according to award documents were there in August 1944. They were clearing and preparing the airfield "Nevedritsa" to 15 VA (airport Iditsa was not mentioned). Also in the preparation of the airfield mentioned 29 IAB (engineer-airfield battalion) 15 VA.

Re: Nevyedritza airfield

Also miners of the 151 BAO 35 RAB participated in the de-mining of the airfield Nevedritsa.

From the diary of combat actions 225 ShAD on July 10, 1944 "The enemy retreating under the blows of our troops disabled the airfields Nevedritsa, Idritsa, Rovny Bor."

Excellent new details, Kirill, and I have incorporated (included) it in my information for Idriza (Idritsa). Thank you!
