Paddy Cummins, Irish Avation Expert RIP
It is with a heavy heart that I must report the passing of my good friend Mr.Paddy Cummins of Waterford , Ireland. Paddy passed away on June 6th .
He was well known in the Irish Aviation scene and wrote some wonderful books on the subject including a super book on the Irish Aer Corps . Paddy and myself have been working on a project on the Luftwaffe crashes in Ireland during WW2 and it is a great pity that he will not see this work published later this year . To Paddy's wife Maura and family I offer my deepest sympathy , we all have lost a great friend . May you rest in peace my dear friend. Justin Horgan. Re: Paddy Cummins, Irish Avation Expert RIP
I too am very sad to learn of the death of Paddy Cummins. I met him once or twice and corresponded with him from time to time. He was a gentleman and extremely generous with his knowledge. He was a very good historian and researcher, especially on the Irish Air Corps and the WW2 crashes and forced landings of Allied and German aircraft in the South-East part of Ireland where he hailed from.
Rest in peace Paddy. Martin Gleeson. |

Re: Paddy Cummins, Irish Avation Expert RIP
That is sad news to get, I spoke with him by phone earlier this year for over an hour, walked home from work and forgot my car I was so engrossed.
He was very kind to me sending information. A sad loss to or little community. Pass on my regards to the family. Dennis
