Loss of JU88A6 7T-BL 1941 Gawton wood Devon
Hi,
I’m looking for any information on the loss of the Junkers JU88A6 on the 17th August 1941 it came down in gawton woods in Devon. Squadron 3/Kustenflegergruppe base Lannion Brest France. It was shot down by AA gunfire. I have a friend who saw the plane as a boy but his information on it is limited. I’d really appreciate any additional information on anything related to the aircraft in question. Thank you. |

Hi Leo,
Thank you for the information I’m new to this. What is the 60% 100% listed with each loss? I know that all were killed on board and where they are buried in Plymouth. Is there anywhere you can look up information on the downed aircraft? Regards Rob |

Quote:
(B) Places to look up information are National Archives file AIR40/45 (crashed enemy aircraft reports) and the Luftwaffe Quartermaster General's loss reports on microfilm at the Imperial War Museum — I don't have the relevant bits of either, but someone here probably has. Also there's the series of books "Luftwaffe Crash Archive" published by Wing Leader. |

There is no entry for August 17th,1941 in Luftwaffe Crash Archive.
I found : August 5th, 1941, Ju 88A-4 M2+HL 3./106,Molescombe Farm, Frogmore, Devon. |

Re: Loss of JU88A6 7T-BL 1941 Gawton wood Devon
Of course!! Sorry for the mistake I have seen a few minutes later but too late!
I attempted to edit my post by this did not work, probably because I used the wrong button ! According to LCA, the aircraft was completly destroyed in impact. All the crew is now buried in Cannock. |
