Re: Smoking In Combat Aicraft

Possibly off topic, but when flying USN in the early 60s, have personal knowledge of pilots that took off their oxygen masks and smoked during flight. IMHO at least one strike/fatal accident was the result of this activity.

By the early 60s, if not actually banned, smoking by pilots was the exception.
