Me 262s of KG 51 (more)

Just posted to the Ghostbombers website are:
  • Kampfflieger Volume 4 page 363: additional details of the Me 262s on strength with I./KG 51 in January 1945 including (in most cases) whether each machine carried two or four cannon, plus several "new" aircraft and some losses.
  • Ghost Bombers: Chapter 10, new information on the careers of Maj. Robert Rohn and Hptm. Eduard Reither after they left NSG 9.

Hello Nick,
thanks for your excellent web-site.
I think I saw the crash of the Me 262 KG 51 in Schwaebisch-Hall at Febr 1945. That time I was with II NJG 6 at the ground in Hall, when I saw the jet on final approach, having a flame out and crashed short of runway. This happened in the beginning of jet-age when idling too much.
In the early 1960 we had in Lufthansa flame outs with B720 Pratt-Whitney engines when in idling position before take -off and heavy crosswind. Had to restart and taking off then with high RPM.
