Photo references on any a/c flown by Maj Walter Grabmann Kde ZG76 during 1939-40

Hello,

I'm seeing photo reference material for any a/c flown by Hptm-Obstlt Walter Grabmann, the Kde of ZG76 at any time during his career in 1939-40. Can anyone help?

Thanks,

I have a clear photo of Grabmann and plane during this period and also the Bf 109 you asked for in a previous post. Contact me offsite for details.

Larry

Check with Axel Urbanke - I thought he had Grabmann's log books etc and also did a piece in one of the Luftwaffe im Focus issues.

Mark,

Urbanke did an article in LiF #3, but covered with photos and info mainly the period after 1940, the time of my prime interest.

Grabmann flew Bf110C L1+XB during the Polish Campaign, while GrKdr of V.(Z)/LG1, then M8+XA as Gr Kdr of ZG76. Does anyone know of photos of either of these a/c, especially the in which he was shot down and POW in May, 1940, during the WC?

Regards,

Hello,

Thanks for the reference to the Grabmann FB. I'm covered with that for the period of the EOE project.

Regards,

I have only this, Larry.

Looks like M8+XA, but I dont know the time of it flown.
Mottled camou.
Long tail section, indicate this as D or E-1.
Then, marked places for underwing bombracks tell us that it is Bf110E-1 for sure.

So, it could be late 1940 - early 1941.

But look, Grabmann shows a aircombat figures with his hands. Are there were aircombats while he in Norway in early 1941?

Larry,

Just went through my Bf 110 file and found 2 photos of L1+XB. At least one was "right-clicked" from E-Bay in 2004, and I have tagged as belonging to Liensberger. I can forward if you are interested.
