Me 109 Loss France - May/June 1940 - New Photo?
This image has been sent to me by one of my contacts in France.
It depicts a '109 forced-landed near Fallencourt. The original shows no trace of any fuselage markings/numerals that I can see, apart from the JG26 'Schlageter' emblem. The family were secretly photographed (hence black lines) sitting on the aircraft after they found it in their village "...when they returned from evacuation after the German invasion." So, I imagine this to probably be a June 1940 incident. Can anyone supply details, or hazard a guess? One for Don Caldwell, Larry or Peter C? Last edited by Andy Saunders; 1st June 2013 at 00:31. |

With the upright propellor blade not being bent, the engine/prop were stopped at the time of landing.

I think the location is nearer to St Riquier-en-Riviere, if that helps any? On the road heading towards Dancourt.
