405th FS, 371th FG, photos needed

Hi all,

could someone send scans of pictures about the 405th FS?
The planes were P47 Thunderbolts with medium blue cowler and fuselage code "8N".

Pictures showing pilots of this squadron would be very helpfull to.

Does it exit a book about this unit?

Thank you very much;

Flyingkag

Hi friend, i'm interesting too by all about this unity who is based in my research sector from october 44 to 20 december 44 (Y-7 Tavaux).
No problem for found some pics from the 324th FG located in same period on Y-7, but 371th FG is" Loch Ness "monster !
Sine ten years, one french Film for TV was build about the 371th "Dogfight", but no one P-47 from 371th FG inside !
all coming from other FG .
i know (only !!) 2/3 from 371th FG pics in books, but that's all !
My research near veterans are without success....
Difficult to admit no found photos for a celebrous unity, you know it's the 371th FG who suplies Higgins with the lost bataillon in french forest in 1944 (drop ammos, battery for radio and food with modified belly tank).

Best regards, dan

On page 207 of Ken Rust's The 9th Air Force in World War II are two photos of P-47s from the 405th FS.
