Eisenberg 1./JG 54
Need help on clarification of the the loss of Hans Eisenberg 1./JG 54 on the 14 Jan 1943. In Prien's JFV 9/III it has his Bf 109 making a emergency or forced landing at Wladimirsk with 80% damage and his being wounded or injured. The cause listed as engine failure or Motorschaden. On checking the map Vladimirskiy is inside of the city of Leningrad at the time, so no forced landing there to walk away from as he was later listed as KIA in JG 26 30 Mar 1945. So was he hit by flak or in an air battle there and flew away to land somewhere else. The Bf 109, I believe I've read if hit in the wings had a problem with the coolant leaking out which caused engine failure.
