Bf 109 E-7/B, werknummer 0890

Dear all,

Could someone inform me the cause (and percentage of damage) of dismiss of Bf 109 E-7/B, werknummer 0890 on the 21st JULY 1942? Was it a Flakabschuss or Jagd or a flying accident?

Leutnant Sander was killed.

Gen.Qu. loss return 31 July 1942 item 133:
21.7. 8./ZG 1 Feindflug, Ort: Kutejnikowow, Ursache: Absturz, Bf 109 E-7 890 100%. Lt Sander, Hugo +.
Handwritten: loss category 20 (= Totalverlust ohne Feindeinwirkung mit Feindauftrag/ destroyed without enemy action on operational flight).

Viele Danke Leo!

I believed that he was lost on a Feindflug, but there was the possibility of a flying accident; although the report do inform that the loss was not related to enemy action (Flak, jäger, etc.). However, it was on an operational flight.
