German bomber wreck in south tuscany (2)

In a old book of local history I founded the story an air crash near Castiglion Fiorentino, Tuscany (Italy of course!) between 43 and 44, during the night.
People from the area says that it was a two engines german bomber
With the help of a witness I went in the area and I recovered some avio aluminium and this wheel (without tire...at that time rubber was good for shoes !!!).
The diameter was 30 cm, high 22 cm...
During other metal detector sessions other parts were discovered.
Do you have any idea of which kind of airplan we are talking about?
Talking with witnesses of the period, many of them reported that it was a two engine bomber and the pilot was italian one, leutenant Corrado Caioli, who escaped from the war "borrowing" the german airplane and coming back home ( he was from Arezzo) just bailing from the airplane and dropping it on hill near his town.
Do you have ever heard about an Italian pilot who escaped from imprisonment, stealing or corrupting someone, piloting a Luftwaffe airplane?
The story seems strange, but too many people repeated it and telling the truth the pilot existed and he serviced Regia Aeronautica in the 18a Squadriglia, 27° Gruppo, 8° Stormo.

The last photo looks like a Ju-88 tail wheel. Not sure which other aircraft types used this same style.

The last picture should be almost certainly a tail wheel of a Ju.88..Without Continental 560x200 tire..

I post this macro picture of the logo founded in a squared piece of aluminum...just in case someone recognize it, more unknown pieces and a detail of a piece of plastic brown-trasparent with numbers looking like being a part of a protractor

Yes, normal inspection stamp, which was used in German aircraft industry.

I would not (yet) be so sure that this is a Ju 88.

I am trying to scale the wheel against that mobile phone and it looks far too small. Exactly the same type of steel wheel was fitted to some Me 110s and I think (possibly?) the Me 109.

PS - I have just read the dimensions of the wheel. It could be 88 or 110 but this is only from trying to think how big either is...although I am now inclined to something of the 88 size. I cannot find a size on either wheel. However, there is a Schiffer book on German wheels and landing gear. Someone here will have it! I think other types also had this pattern of pressed steel tailwheels.
