Re: Crash of JU88 Wnr885823 of KG76 on 21/6/43
Rémi, please could you help the non-French regarding the joke (blague)?
Lionel Jospin was born there? I did not catch up the joke.... Was the plane going on a probable training flight (or to action)? Or returning from? This is paramount regarding the amount of fuel onboard...and we can have an idea why the pilot choose to going on the deck (low level) or "au raz de marguerites". A. |

Re: Crash of JU88 Wnr885823 of KG76 on 21/6/43
The guys were enjoying the flight and themselves at low level....I would have done (and had indeed done some wonderful flights at low level that are in my memory) the same, just for leisure and pleasure. But the risks are there and some of them paid the price....
It would be nice to know if the pilot passed through a Court-Martial for the low level (I remember reading somewhere that the Germans also had their "Golden rules" and this was "Verboten", isn't it? Or was it part of the training??? More questions to the equation and Historical background related to this flight....Maybe Gilles can find the answers... |
