Re: 16 June 1944

Based on a few sample pages: The text appears to be most interesting. However, does "InDesign" offer only font sizes for the semiblind and in styles most often seen in school reports (sans-serif Arial or something similarly horrible). Based on the text count on those sample pages, the content could have fitted in a 48-page A4 booklet with staple binding and proper printing (not luluized) for €10 + postage.

Re: 16 June 1944

Of course, there cannot be please everyone...
FYI font is Trebuchet..used in all our books as well as style of the cover. And the printing/publishing was chosen just to make it happen, and not ask per hard cover excellent paper printed book 40+EUR per piece plus postage.
If you check other my/our boos, color profiles on 8-16 pages are included and the count of A4 pages goes from 170 to 280. But you would die to pay postage fee unfrtunately if we go this way :/

Solution: Get a British (like The Aviation Shop or Aviation Book Centre) and a German (like Zinnfigur in Berlin) distributor. Both countries have decent foreign postage rates.

And as I noted, the material could have been fitted in a simple A4 format staplebound booklet which is quite cheap to post.

Your 280-page A4 book probably weighs around 1,5 - 1,8 kg. Via DHL the cost from Germany to Finland would be less than 10 €.

Re: 16 June 1944

Jukka, I was trying to google out your books at German/British distributors, but failed. Can you please send me some reference list? Thanks

Re: 16 June 1944

It is totally irrelevant whether I have such books or not. However, e.g. Rob Mulder's European Airlines publishing company has sellers in multiple countries. His books are of high production quality and very fair price. And the print runs are not gargantuan either.

Jukka, it is relevant. If you never ever published or at least dealt with printers, publishers or distributors to get you book published... else you are speaking just to the wind.

Re: 16 June 1944

Peter

Sorry to trouble you with this but if I order from Britain can you say how long delivery might take does the book come from America? I have been into "order details" and the lulu system says it does not recognise my details...

Steve

Steve, they should have print the book in Britain (accoring to map they have on web site and policy, that the book is printed in closest place). Time is needed to produce/print book and delived it. So at leats 2 weeks (maybe shorted, depends on delivery distance).
