Koeln - Travemuende June 1941.

I've previously purchased an original print of the first photo via E-Bay but the second one is new to me. Personally, given the blurred nature of the photos, I think they are overpriced even for a 'Hubschrauber Fanatik' but thanks for posting this up.

Re: Flettner Fl265 pictures 2x

Just for curiosity (not my field of interest, particularly), is the name of the photographed pilot who made that flight from the deck of a Kriegsmarine Schiff known?

If the Flettner was available in 1941 (as we can see on those images), why was it not used more intensively by the LW? Lack of range and low flight time (fuel) available for eventual operations?

Re: Flettner Fl265 pictures 2x

The flight from the Koeln was made by Flettner's test pilot, Ludwig Hofmann.

The Fl 265 was also demonstrated at Rechlin in front of Franz Halder. I'd say that it was more proof of concept and that the Fl 282 offered increased possibilities.

The Fl 282 photo was taken aboard the Drache in early 1943. Pilot looks like Claus von Winterfeld. This isn't an unknown photo.
