RAF fighter and two Me 262s
Hi,
W/C J.B. Wray is credited with one Me 262 damaged (actually shot down) on 3/11/1944 and one destroyed on 5/12/1944. Is this 122 Wing Leader only one RAF pilot with two kills ? Regards, Michal |

Re: RAF fighter and two Me 262s
W/O Antoni Murkowski got 1-0-1 as well, but technically he was Polish AF and not RAF, though he served with the latter service post-war.

Re: RAF fighter and two Me 262s
Czesc Franek,
Thank you for reply. Do you know in detail which Schwalbe unit and what real losses suffered it in the fight on 9/4/45, compare to three Sqns claims, 5-0-1 in total ? Michal |

Re: RAF fighter and two Me 262s
Total credit was 4-0-1 between 306 and 309 Sqns. No records of German losses, despite eg. guncam film showing an airman on a parachute, possibly due to documents lost in the chaos.

OK. I thought those five destroyed for both , Polish and Bentwaters Wings.

Re: RAF fighter and two Me 262s
As Franek says no losses on 3-11-45 however the next day Kdo. Novotny lost three 262's . Some accounts show that W/C Wray may have shot down the 262 of Ofw. Willi Banzaff who was killed in the crash at Mittfeld near Schneverdinger am den Heide on the 4th ( apologies for any mis-spellings),
