From what I remember their claims that say were optimistic! I am away at present so cannot confirm but I did write an article about the days attack on shipping

Here we have the German cemetery of Suda/Crete where the most killed airmen of the hydroplanes unit were buried

Gentlemen,

There was one Ar-196 that was launched from the German heavy cruiser Prinz Eugen in 1943 and had shot down a Beaufighter. Prinz Eugen was under air attack by plenty of RAF Beaufighters. So far it was the only recorded kill from a German seaplane launched from a German ship. Anymore examples?
