GAO 3/551 11. September 1939

On that day GAO 551 loss an ANF 117 No. 70 with the crew Cne. Jean Rossignol and Lt. Jean Sueur. Both where shoot down by German AAA near Trassem. Both airmen are given an funeral with full military honour at the cemetery of the small City at Saarburg by the german military authority.

Cne. Rossignol was an Chevalier de la Legion d'honneur. For what military action he get this Order?

Where rest both officers today in France?
