Re: Lockheed Hudson Mk IIIA, 161 Squadron;

I find it more than a bit distressing to find you advertising parts of my uncle's aircraft for sale on this forum.

May remind you that the crew of 4 + 4 Dutch agents lost their lives on board that aircraft.

More details of the loss of Hudson FK790 may be found at

www.161squadron.org

I should, perhaps, add that 9th person lost their life during the recovery of this aircraft. One of the team who were working to keep the vulture-like souvenir hunters away had a fatal accident during the course of his duties.

I should further add that I was in contact with the salvage team and to the best of my knowledge NO parts should be in the public domain. Relatives of the crew and the sister of one of the agents were given small items from the site. One of the propellors is now a monument in Exmorra and the tail + a few other items are in the Kazamatten Museum.

Thanks Dennis. I still believe that these parts have been obtained illegally and that it is morally reprehensible for someone to try to profit from the spoils of a crash that cost the lives of those trying to aid the seller's country.

Happy to say that Jan and I are now in regular contact and plan to meet in May 09. The parts concerned will be given to appropriate museums for permanent display.
