Shot down LW Officer commanding Squadron in Bay Of Biscay
Just a quick background on my question. I was reading Sefton Delmer's book online and came accross this reference. For those who don't know, Sefton Delmer was the person responsible for setting up the "Soldatsender Calais" radio station in WWII. This radio station broadcast to the Geramn armed forces.
In one chapter he mentions tha the "Luftwaffe officer commanding the German Air Force squadrons in Bay of Biscay" was shot down and captured by the British. This Luftwaffe officer knew all about Soldatsender Calais and was astonded at the accuracy of the broadcasts. Does anyone know the identity of this officer? |
