Help with Flugbuch Terms Please

Hi guys

I am still wading through Willi Gaul's Flugbuch. Two terms I would like to check with you are:

'Unsellandung' (or it might be 'Unselandung' or 'Unseluibung' - sorry but the writing is hard to read)
and
'Fiellandung'

Can anyone help clarify the meaning of these terms in the context of advanced multi-engine aircraft pilot training?

As ever, any help will be much appreciated.

Thanks
Tim O.

Re: Help with Flugbuch Terms Please

Here is the first word I am struggling with, shown in the top line of this page under 'Zwed des Fluges'.

Any ideas on what is written and what it means?

Thanks
Tim O.

Re: Help with Flugbuch Terms Please

Hi Tim,
The first word is "Umschulung" and means something like type rating to another type of airplane

Re: Help with Flugbuch Terms Please

The other two are :

Bombenwerfen - Bomb drop/launch
Ueberfuehrung - Transport / Ferry Flight

Also the correct column name is "Zweck des Fluges"

Tim,

the first word you are looking for is - as already mentioned - "Umschulung". Properly explained as achieving the type rating on a new a/c. The second one I suspect is "Ziellandung" which I loosely translate as "precision landing" or "point landing" - my information is that the pilot in question had to touch down on a target marking to proof his ability to bring down the machine "spot on". Typically, a certain distance was acceptable but too much and you failed.
