Blenheim R3912 and Sgt L S Nillan

I am trying to find the early squadron history for Blenheim R3912.
Sgt L S Nillian was reported injured in ops from Thorney Island on 2 August 1940. I think he could have been with 59 Squadron.
Any info would be good.
Cheers Motherbird

You can read the 59 Sqn ORB online on the TNA website.

See the stucky thread on ORB's for directions, the last post I posted.

Re: Blenheim R3912 and Sgt L S Nillan

Hello Motherbird,

R3912 was serving with 139 Squadron on 2 August 1940 when it was damaged by A/a fire during a sortie to Brest. The crew forced landed the aircraft at Thorney Island.
Sgt. Leslie Stuart Millen, the pilot, was wounded in an arm and admitted to the Royal Navy Haslar Hospital in Portsmouth.
The first entry on the Form 78 Aircraft History Card for R3912 shows it was Taken On Charge by 10 Maintenance Unit on 9 June 1940, then to 139 Squadron on 13 June 1940.

Hope this helps,

Regards,

Martin Gleeson.
