Re: Questions about Hugo Dahmer
Hi Guys
Trouble with Dahmer is that he flew for with a unit that's microfilm earlier form claims seem not to have survived, also I believe he may have unconfirmed claims in his "total" of forty-five. I can say at least forty confirmed, and at least two unconfirmed. His last five were with 7./JG 2(three) and 1./JG 2(two), these included his only three confirmed "viermots", can't number them, but they were from 6th March 1943 and 6th September 1943. He had for sure nine confirmed in the west between 16th May 1940 and 15th October 1940, and two unconfirmed with 5./JG 26, then maybe twenty-four with 1./JG 77 from 26th June 1941 until 28th September 1941(nr.10-33) and at least two with 6./JG 5 in February 1942. But only those with JG 26 and JG 2 are 100% certain, i.e fourteen are found on the microfilms. Kind Regards Johannes |

Re: Questions about Hugo Dahmer
Hello Johannes!
Therefore the I-153 attributed to it (3/9/41),should not be taken into account or at best be counted probable, because it does not fit within the 33 that I referenced(26/6/41-28/9/41). There could also be unconfirmed in the 8 (34.41.) claimed between 12/10/41 and 22/2/42. Which are to be retained on the six that I reference: 6/3/43=2 8/3/43=1 16/8/43=1 22/8/43=1 6/9/43=1 Best Regards Michel |

Re: Questions about Hugo Dahmer
Hi Michel
His claims with JG 77 and JG 5 are not reliable at all, he could have had fifty claims with JG 77 or twenty, and then even if we got 100 % documentary evidence of the actual dates, there would be no way of knowing which were confirmed. All, as far as I know that can be confirmed 100 % are his first claims with JG 26, and his last five with JG 2. I wonder if he kept a rudder markings tally/, if so there should be a photograph somewhere, but many of these include unconfirmed. However if such a rudder photograph survives it may shown the Sowiet star for those in Russia, which would be a great help! Kind Regards Johannes |
