Unknown Aircraft Wing & Tail Panels - thoughts?

Well...I have pretty much rules out almost every aircraft I can think of.

Tail indicated it is a fighter or destroyer, given the markings...but I have never seen aircraft markings like that, this late in the war (1944).

Thoughts?

Look kinda like IL2 wing and hatch openings.

*edit*
Assuming they are legit period pieces...my gut says some form of trench art.

*Another perfect example* of just how important including scale is in part identification photographs. >> Are the insignia regulation size? <<

Also: is the material steel plate or sheet aluminum?

What is on the other side?

It's silly to post photographs of mystery parts without including basic, fundamental descriptions of them.

Typically panels with that many large screws in it are considered "structural" panels. Usually found on the bottom of a wing covering fuel tanks, etc..

What's odd is that you wouldn't expect to find a structural panel on the vertical stab where the swastika is applied.
A Ju-87 is one of the few that has a large removable panel, but clearly that wouldn't be the correct type aircraft.

I'm pretty sure I have these narrowed down to McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom II Access Skin Panels.
