MH540 and MJ521

On 2 May 1945 SAAF 7. Squadron lost two pilots in Spitfires IX. Pilots were Lt. Stott and Lt. Logan. Allegedly, they flew MH540 and MJ521.

Please, can anyone confirm which pilot flew which plane and find plane letter? Squadron code was TJ.

Thank you for reading.

Re: MH540 and MJ521

Hello Marko,
Just a quick note.

"85 Years of the SAAF" compiled by Winston Brent
Has the following -

MJ521 - IX - 7 - engine failure 15 miles S of Ogudine, cr/landed 01.05.45. [ page 302 ].
Note spelling of Ogudine.
MJ521 - 7 - 01.05.45 - Lt. EE Stott (s).[ page 309 ].

MH540 - 7 - s/d by flak, abandoned 01.05.45. [ page 301 ].
MH540 - 7 - 01.05.45 - Lt. JCG Logan (s). [ page 309 ].
Note one day difference for both events.

While "Spitfire International" has the following -
Page 312.
MJ521 - Spitfire LF.IXc - (Merlin 66 ); TOC /RAF 29.11.43;
MAAF 12.4.45 - SAAF (MTO), No.7 Sqn, hit by AA 15 m S of Oguvin, Cat.FB/E 2.5.45 ( Lt. EE Stott retd to Sqn on 6.5.44); SOC 31.5.45.
Note spelling of Oguvin and error of year.

Page 3308.
MH540 - Spitfire LF.IXc ( Merlin 66); TOC/RAF 26.8.43;
NAASC 31.10.43 - SAAF ( MTO), No.7 Sqn, failed to return, hit by flak in San Lorenzo de Valli area/4m S of Zagreb, Cat.FB/E 2.5.45 ( 1Lt JCG Logan PoW ); SOC 31.5.45.

Re: MH540 and MJ521

Correct spelling of town is Ogulin.
Date was 2 May 1945.
Lt. Stott and Lt. Logan were on movement recce forward area mission. They reported weather conditions in Udine, Italy area and were not heard after.

I am sure they gave some official statement for report upon their return to Italy. But where to look for that documents?
