Richard,

Your project(s) sounds rather interesting and I am curious to know what you're working on; skins for a flight sim?, a webpage?, a book or an article?

Just wondering because I'd like to see the finished product.

Project is a number of profiles for a book about the History of RAF Coltishall being written by the Unit's last CRO. I'm doing them as a freebie as I did a large number of profiles for a poster showing the majority of the RAF and RN aircraft operated on the station from 1940 to 2006 that was produced for the station's last Families Day in Sep 05. (Only missed 3 type's (Master, Proctor and Brigand T5 (OCU Det in the 1950's)) due to my last trip to Kew being disrupted by the events in London in July 2005). I've already done a post war 'Silver' Polish Mk III from 315 Sqn and just want to do some of the 150 Wing Mustangs of 19,65 and 122 Sqn's that were at Coltishall's satellite at Matlask in Sep/Oct 44. (I don't have the time or budget to get to Kew to find the info on 65 or 122 Sqn's aircraft and likewise cannot get to IWM to see if they have any photos there (Did Hendon at the start of the project and didn't know about this site until early last year (didn't have broadband until then).

There is a photo of F, E and B at Matlask in the book “Fighter Squadron” published by Derek Palmer who is the historian for the 19Sqdn Association
http://www.19sqnallranksassoc.org.uk/ I think 19 is a shadow sqdn at TWTU RAF Valley at the moment.

They were the CFS det at Valley when I was living on the station in the mid 1990's along with 208(R) and 74(R) Squadrons as part of 4FTS. Needless to say they took over the 74 number plate when the training was changed to one squadron for Advanced Flying Training and one for the Tactical Weapons Training phases. Cheers Steve, I’ll contact Derek at once.

Cheers Ross, However Steve has found what I was after and passed it on, I'll post the finished profile when its done. Cheers to everybody who replied. However one problem, the aircraft under side is very dark and no detail is visible except for a possible white stripe across the wing at about the point at which the aileron and flap meet. I do believe that the under wing D-day markings were removed on 2TAF / ADGB aircraft before Sep 44, hence did the RAF Mustangs have such a marking on the wings, post the removal of the D-Day wing stripes. Does anybody know??? State of play on profile attached.

Regards Richard
