Oberleutnant Dieter Meister

Hi guys

Many thanks to Remi and Fredo for the information concerning his birth date and location and Chris for the alert concerning the photograph. Bill, honestly I have no information concerning the circumstances of his loss so unfortunately I can not add any information on what he up to when he fought his last battle. Here is the Amazon link to Gross's book concerning V./KG 40 if any one is interested:

Horrido!

Leo

Re: Oberleutnant Dieter Meister

For my opinion Olt. Dieter Meister was the Staffelkapitän of 9./J.G. 2 not of 10./J.G. 2.

Hi guys

Oops! Sorry Chris, for some strange reason I have always thought of your surname as Gross. Interestingly, I did not find Meister listed in the JG 2 WASt list at www.ww2.dk/misc/wastjg2.pdf

Horrido!

Leo

Very Interesting Kaczmareck ! I have information that Meister was Staka. of 10/JG2 since the 20/10/44. For the 9./JG2, i have read that Oblt.Bellstedt, the staka. killed the 21/10/44 was replaced by Hans-Peter Hansen...where is the mistake ?

Hi Chris,
I bought your book "Bloody Biscay" and, surprise, there is the same photo in your book than on the site www.Luftwaffe.cz. So, this is Dieter Meister on the website. You are a good commercial Chris :-)
