Re: German Ace: Ludwig Meister

It seems that this is the chap that shot down my grandfathers plane on 03/12/1942.

I've been to Florennes to visit his grave but until today didn't know anything about meister or realise that he was based there.

..more pictures of Meister & his aircraft & details of his career appeared in a 1998 article in Avions magazine (issue 60) - there's a copy available here

Re: German Ace: Ludwig Meister

Hi Tucker,

I guess you are referring to the crew members of Sgt Harry Morrissy, D.F.M., R.C.A.F. who are buried at Florennes. But their Halifax II W7913 was shot down near Resteigne (B) by Uffz. Ericher from the 2./NJG 4 at 03.55 h. while Oblt. Ludwig Meister from the Stab III./NJG 4 claimed the Halifax II W7916 which crashed at Couvron-et-Aumencourt (F) at 06.17 h.

Rgds.
