I have never found an answer and doubt, that I ever will. All dead and gone, as the main actors are. I did discover one thing though; in many accounts - even by reputeable historians - Hanna Reitsch is accredited as the pilot who took the Arado 96 out (thus leaving poor Feldwebel B behind). In her own memoir (German version), she states that the three of them flew out together.
Incredible that such a flying talent and courageous man did not earn his place in the history books!
