Looking for ID of insignia on Stab I./KG 51 a/c 1940
On eBay yesterday, the following photo was sold at auction: <http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6274917015&rd=1&sspage name=STRK%3AMEDW%3AIT&rd=1>
In addition to the standard KG 51 insignia, it carried a second one on the nose. The coding appears to be 9K+BB, which would make it an a/c from the Stab of I./KG 51. Does anyone recognize this insignia. It could be one for the Stab of I./KG 51, although I've never seen this before. More likely it is some kind of personal insignia. Can anyone confirm the ID as 9K+BB, and provide any further information on this insignia, a/c or crew? Thanks |

Re: Looking for ID of insignia on Stab I./KG 51 a/c 1940
Hi Larry,
I must have missed this photo on E-bay, has it not been featured on here courtesy of Ed North. Could you please provide a scan for me, or anybody else who could help. Just out of interest, ive checked my files and cant find any 9K+BB listed. would also be interested in any further clarification as to its identity. Rgs, Steve. |
