FW58 BB+CL 15.Jan.43 Minsk area
Gentlemen!
15.Jan.43 FW58 BB+CL made a forced landing north of Minsk. Crew had escaped, the plane was burned up by partisans. Any details about the plane and crew are interesting. Best regards, Andrey |

Re: FW58 BB+CL 15.Jan.43 Minsk area
Andrey,
BB+CL was a He 46. I have this loss: Fw 58C WNr. 58332 BB+SL, emergency landing near Kamienka (which is some 300km west of Minsk) on 14.01.43 by a crew from 3./Fliegergruppe zbV 7.

Re: FW58 BB+CL 15.Jan.43 Minsk area
The flight was one of the first in 3./Fliegerguppe z.b.V.7 because it was transfered on 18 Dezember 1942 from Berlin-Posen-Litzmannstadt-Warschau-Rowno-Bobruisk to Mogilew. On 14 January 1943 the plane returned from a "Einsatzbesprechung" in Bialystok. After the take off on 12.55 the plane was lost on 15.45 with an "Notlandung im Bandengebiet".
In May 1941 it was used by Sch/FAR 62. |

Re: FW58 BB+CL 15.Jan.43 Minsk area
Probably the error was due to Kennzeichen was written in Cyrillic in the partisan report ("ББ+СЛ").
Latin "S" = Cyrillic "С". |

Re: FW58 BB+CL 15.Jan.43 Minsk area
One more probably unknown plane lost in partisan area. Interesting story:
8.May.43 during German air raid against partisan airfield Selyavshina (35 km north of Polotsk/Polozk) the partisans had damaged a FW plane (exact type isn't mentioned), which crashed a bit later. German crew threw two MG and a photographic camera into Drissa river (all 3 items were raised by partisans) and tried to escape but 2 airmen were captured (probably the whole crew). Partisans had taken from the plane a parachute and 2000 MG rounds. Both motors were digged in. The names of the airmen are unknown for me. The plane is evidently not FW189 WNr 125162 lost on the same day as the crew of the unknown FW became a POW. Best regards, Andrey |
