I think 28 September would be about five weeks after the area was liberated! Are you sure about that date?

Re: BF 109 G-6 Wr 162768

Hello,

the Bf 109 G-6 162 762 (RU+OX, 1./JG 53 yellow 3, Uffz Karl Pauly KIA) was lost on 11 June 1944 at Giurgiu southwest of Bucharest.

On 29 March 1944 a ferry flight of the 162 764 (RU+OZ) to Italy ended at Samedan near St. Moritz. Ofhr Hirtes of 2.(Süd)/Fl.Ü.G. 1 had come off course and the fuel was getting low.

The 162 767 (Stab I./JG 77 black < -) was lost on 26 April 1944 after a mid-air collision near Caselle/Turin. The pilot Ofhr Siegfried Kraus parachuted and was injured.

Re: BF 109 G-6 Wr 162768

Bonjour Gilles ,
The small village where the plane fell, is called MERVILLE and is
located in the department of Eure, Normandy. It is located about
2.5 km south-east of St-André de l'Eure and about 12 km west of Marcilly
La Campagne which were Luftwaffe airfields in 1944.
I continue looking for info and clues.
Merci de ton aide Gilles .
Regards
