Re: F86 crash 1960
No record of any Canadian built Luftwaffe Sabres lost in a collision in 1960. Did they Germans have other Sabres?

Re: F86 crash 1960
The collision was actually on 18 October 1960. Online archived Dutch newspapers report the Sabres collided head on at around 4 p.m.
Harrie: big parts of the Sabre of the killed pilot are said to have landed on a barn of Mr Adama, Boerendiep, Stadskanaal. The barn later burned down. The other Sabre came down behind the house of Mr. Van der Laan, Schoolkade, Nieuw-Buinen, west of the railtrack Stadskanaal-Ter Apel. Perhaps one of these locations match the place where you found pieces of one the aircraft? Groet, Leendert |

Re: F86 crash 1960
Thank you udf-00 ,mr Walker and Leendert, Well done all of you ! .To me especially the info from Leendert is very useful and yes you are almost right about the locations you given. The past days i,ve gathered some info about locals and they told me the barn collapsed in the evening and that one of the GAF pilots was sadly killed.
On the attachment there is a cap and a plate ,hopefully anybody recognize it . Thank you all Last edited by Harrie; 16th December 2019 at 17:34. |
