'Erfliegen' in Flugbuch

I am researching the Flugbuch of a pilot who flew the Henschel Hs 129 ground attack aircraft. During his training at Zerstörerschule 2 he records the purpose of some flights as 'Erfliegen'. I have not been able to find a good translation for this in the context of pilot training.

Can anyone offer an appropriate translation please?

Thanks for any help.
