Last shot down Mustang (in dogfight) over Europe
Gentlemen,
According to my knowledge, the last Mustang claim over Europe was Major Dahl's on 26 April, 1945, near Dillingen. Was it a real kill, confirmed by the US records? Anyone knows further Mustang claims in middle of April? The last Hungarian Mustang claim was on 16 April, 1945 (8th AAF) and it was confirmed by ground witnesses. Because of the intensive strafings and losses on that day, I am afraid, that it is impossible to identify that plane exactly. Was it any real Mustang losses by the Luftwaffe after that date? Thanks,
