Well known crash near Mardyck which seems to have been photographed by loads-Plt Off J H Rowden, 64 Sqn, P7784, 9 Apr 41 claimed by 4./JG 51 and Flak

Poor lad...it seems that the machine crashed without too much forward energy and rather a huge vertical inertia (some kind of flat spin) which broke the fuselage in several places. Even if he was not killed by the bullets we can see on the fuselage and entry door, the impact may have been hard.
The Germans could, at least, have put a drap over the poor guy's face and "Honored" their victim. Some times they did...some times not... THANK YOU very very much for ID the man and the machine. Very kind of yours. A. |
