4./NJG 5 or 1./NJG 100
Good Morning,
Oblt. Robert Landau was lost on the night of 19 / 20 july 1943. Sources (Die personellen Verluste der deutschen NJG, Kracker LA, Career Summaries) differ about the unit he flew when lost. No mention of the loss in M.Balss Deutsche Nachtjagd Personalverluste. These only are the ‘west losses’. His “bordwart”, Fw. Friedrich Reipöhler was also killed in the crash. Kracker states he was lost in Ju 88C-6; 360130, So this might suggestie he was a member of 1./NJG 100 as this unit was flying this type of a/c at that time. Perhaps someone has more info about this and has the name (probably) of the other crew members. Snowy greetings, Dirk |

Matti,
As usual, incredibale, very much appriciated. So Stab. IV./NJG 5, that’s something new. In the Career Summaries 10./NJG 5 is mentioned and also Adj. So he could be the Gruppe Adj at the time of his loss. Very interesting. Thx again for this info Dirk |

Thanks for correction. However, correct seems to be Reipöhler (VDK). Either my typo or typo in the original NVM.

Re: 4./NJG 5 or 1./NJG 100
Rüdiger,
Thx for the info. Another mystery or as Matti stated an error in the NVM and this misstake followed the VDK? Unlikely? But possible of course. Do you by chance know if Landau was the Gr.Adj. at the time of his loss? Kind regards, Dirk |

Re: 4./NJG 5 or 1./NJG 100
The death card of Ofw Paul Mrusek, member of 4./NJG 5, says Mrusek died while flying an 'Erprobungsflug bei Sonderkommando Landau'.
What is this unit exactly and does it have a connection to Robert Landau? Regards, Timon |
