NA-64, s/n 13, FFS A/B 33

Hi forum readers,

On April 30, 1943 a NA-64 is reported to have crashed near Ermelo-Veldwijk in The Netherlands, with serial 33. StkZ unknown. Aircraft was from FFS A/B 33, probably from Altenburg, and crew were W. Kretzmann and H. Beck (both killed)

Have some questions:
- what brought a FFS A/B 33 to The Netherlands? Navigation flight?
- was the a/c flying from it's home base or was it (temp) based in The Netherlands?
- any details / records available from the crash / accident ?
- have no info that FFS A/B 33 used NA-64 (or NA-57). Any leads to FFS A/B 33 details?

All information is most welcome. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Benno ("BennoT6")

Absturz infolge Bedienungsfehler. Bruch 100 %, and SKZ was DG+CZ.

This airctaft was from I/JG 101 and only the pilot was from FFS A/B 33.

Re: NA-64, s/n 13, FFS A/B 33

Hi Matti,

Thanks for feedback. Finally a StKz for this one. Fits perfectly in the row with DG+CX and DG+CY which were also NA-64s. The pilot being from FFS A/B 33 and a/c from I/JG101 also taken away two questionmarks. Had both these units listed in my records for this crash.

In case you might have further details of NA-57 and/or NA-64, and willing to share, I am very much interested.

Best regards,

Benno, The Netherlands
