Actually, many dead have two cards, I have found cases where four cards are the same man.
Cards so far on fold3 cover mainly the period from 1 September 1939 to March 1944. My estimate is that at least 90% of the deads in 1939 to 1943 can be found there... some with badly recognized names.... At least for these years, fold3 has more entries (not counting the duplicates) than Volksbund, especially for men dying in Germany. These death cards seem not to include people considered as missing by the Volksbund, but include sailors, soldiers and airmen lost at sea and commemorated on Kiel or Laboe. And you can search for everything, for an unit, a place, a cause...
