25 Aug 1944 Rostock
On 25 Aug 1944 the 479th FG flew an escort mission for a B-24 raid on Rostock. Three pilots from the 479th FG, 434th FS, (Claire Duffie, Berkley Hollister and Robin Olds) are credited with shooting down 7 planes just west of Rostock on this day. I think three of these were the following which are discussed on another thread:
