13 February 1945

Hi there
I'd like to ask if some of you know the name of German pilot of Bf-109 who scored a victory against Yak-9 from Polish 1 Pulk Lotnictwa Mysliwskiego 'Warszawa" (Warsaw 1 Fighter Regiment) on 13 February 1945 at 16:00 (Moscow time) near Ogorzeliny (close to Bydgoszcz). Polish pilot ppor J. Gosciuminski was KIA in this combat. It was the single attack(2 vs. 2) from behind and separation.

A qualified guess would be a pilot from either Stab, I. or IV./JG 51.

I would say maybe IV./JG 51. That unit registered two Bf 109 G-6s shot down in air combat in that region on 13 February 1945. The Luftwaffe claimed 12 victories (against 25 own losses) on the Eastern Front that day, but infortunately I don't have any details regarding who scored those victory claims.

This is awsome info Christer and if you happened to find the Airmen who scored those victory claims on the Eastern Front that day don't hesitate to post it here, I am sure our friend Leon from the beautiful city of Lublin would be interested about it just like me.

Regards
