Abbreviation in newspaper report
I'm looking at a German war report and the credit is "von unserem WK-Luftwaffencorrespondenten". So what does the "WK-" stand for — Weltkrieg (World War) or something else entirely?
Hardly the most important aspect of the article but I'd still like to know! |

Re: Abbreviation in newspaper report
I have seen 'WK' used in German Foreign Ministry papers (in German) as an abbreviation for Weltkrieg.

Re: Abbreviation in newspaper report
Wehrkreis sounds good, but what is about an abbreviation of a local newspaper ?.

The lead article on the front page. A slightly shorter version of the same article appears (for example) in a Leipzig paper but without a byline. |
