Trans-Atlantic glider tow - June 1943

In June 1943 a Dakota (FD900) towed a glider, Hadrian FR579, over the North Atlantic in several stages. The in all aspects courageous crews were escorted by a Catalina in case a ditching would take place.
Names are known of the Dakota and Hadrian crews, but what unit provided the Catalina (or Canso)? Crew names also known for the Cat?

Thanks for info, Leendert

Re: Trans-Atlantic glider tow - June 1943

I now notice that I have brought the subject forward in 2022 as well (http://forum.12oclockhigh.net/archiv...p?t-62337.html), with Catalina FP159 as escort. Pilot Capt Andrew Gerrand (RCAF) and co-pilot William Baird. Catalina apparently on a ferry/delivery flight.
