September 7, 1944 - 155th Photo Rec. Sqdn
Hello/Bonjour,
I am looking for a good picture of Lt. Lloyd J. VERKET aircrew [...Lt. David THOM; S/Sgt Cecil C. BAILEY]. F-3A serial 43-21457, crew who took pictures of a large German column on September 7, 1944 between Chateauroux and Issoudun, France. I have a picture on microfilm from the unit [155th Photo Reconnaissance Squadron], but she is unusable. Thank you beforehand. All the best, Frederic |

Re: September 7, 1944 - 155th Photo Rec. Sqdn
Hi Fred. There is a reasonable photo of Verket with Sgt. Holden in Tom Ivie's "Patton's eyes in the sky" and a quite detailed account of the 7 Sept. mission by Verket himself, plus one of his photos. There is also a photo of Verket, Thom and Bailey with the tail of 43-21457 taken on the same day.
Would you like me to try to scan one of them in when I have time? Nick |
